4 months

Dear Liam,
You turned four months old yesterday. You keep growing bigger every day. People say you're big for your age, but I think you're just the right size.
You haven't figured out how to roll over yet, but you have become a pro at tummy time. You now hold toys in your hands and play with // suck on them. And you enjoy playing in your exersaucer, your bouncy seat, and having me sing songs to you.
Your favourite way to fall asleep is to be cuddled in your blanket with your pacifier, and have mama rock you.
You wake up around 6:30 or 7 every morning and are ready to play. You sleep fairly well, and only wake up two or three times a night.
You are still the cutest, sweetest, baby around.
We love you,
Daddy and Mama

Sometimes I feel bad for pretty much jus updating this once a month, but then I think 'this is my blog, I'll update it when I want to.'
Anyways, Liam turns 4months old on Saturday, so I'll be writing my typical update then. I just got an idea for some totally adorable photos of Liam for this month. Thankfully Nate has Saturday off, so he can help me acheive my goal. If it works, it'll be wayyy cute. If not, he'll just have his typical pictures in the glider.
His dr's appt is on the 22nd. I'm excited to see how much he's grown.
I think that's all for now,
Talia

3 months old

Dear Liam,
I know this post is about a week late, but our neighbors put a password on the wireless we were using, and I was kind of hoping to not have to type this on my phone, but alas, here I am, writing this up on my phone.

You have grown at least a little bit this month, as I just swiched your 0-3month clothes for 3-6months clothes. I left the pants, cause you still fit those fine but all your sleepers and onsies were getting to snug. I also just started putting your diapers on the second snap, because if I don't they unsnap themselves.

You enjoy playing in your exersaucer, because it holds you upright, and can play you music. You also like to have books read to you, and bounce on our knees while we sing 'pony boy' or 'trot trot to boston'.

Your babbling has taken on another decible, and sometimes I have to look at you to tell whether you're upset, or just telling your story. Sometimes when you're real upset it sounds like you're crying "mama". You just started giggling and squealing recently, and your daddy and I agree it's the cutest thing ever!!

You haven't rolled over yet, but you do scooch yourself forward with your toes, usually in a curve.

I cannot wait to see what you learn next.

Daddy and I love you so much!
Love, Mama

You Learn Something new Everyday

Liam and I were on our (almost) daily walk this afternoon when we passed a lady that we've passed a few other times and smiled at. We've always smiled at each other, and she's looked at Liam, but we've never stopped.

Today, as we approached each other, she asked if Liam was sleeping. I said yes, turned so he faced her, and pulled down the side of the front pack so she could see his little cherubic face.  She looked at him a moment, and then gently drew a cross on his forehead with her thumb.

She then explained that Mexicans draw crosses on babies like that, so they don't get sick. Because babies get colic when they're stared at, so if someone is staring at him, you must let them cross him.

I found it amusing as Dr. H said that colic was to make a mother's milk increase because they're going through a growth spurt.

2 months old

Dear Liam,
I don't even know where to being, really. Sometimes it's hard to believe that you're two months old, and other times it seems like you've just been around forever. It's hard to remember what I did with my time before you were born.
Love his smile
You're becoming so expressive. You babble and squeal while you're playing with your toys, and you laugh and giggle when we cuddle and talk to you. You entertain yourself sometimes just lying in bed, it's pretty hilarious to watch. I try to make sure you get some tummy time every day, and you're getting really good at controlling your head. Currently you like to be helped to stand up. If we don't, you kick your legs and will try and climb up whoever is holding you.

I feel like there is something watching me.

You're a real cute baby. Any place we go people just fawn all over you, Oohing and Aahing at you and your bright eyes.

He got his first shots today, hence the band-aid
You got two shots today at the Doctor's. You took 'em like a champ, only cried for a minute after the one that stings. I think it was the sparkly band-aids that helped. So proud of you.

You're getting so big, you weigh 12lbs 11oz, and are 25" long. Putting you in the 59% for weight and 99% for height, still a tall baby. Your head is 41 cm, which is the 94% for that. You have gained 2 pounds, and grown 2 inches in the last month. Dr. H would like to see you chunk up a bit in the next two months, so more nursing for you. Not like you need any encouragement in that area, you nurse every 30-45 minutes when you're awake.

Your daddy and I love you so much. We love watching you grow and change. You'll never stop being our baby boy.
Love,
Mama & Daddy
