Striving to be Healthier

I was overweight when I got pregnant with Liam. Because of the gestational diabetes, I only gained 20lbs and at one week PP, I could put my regular clothes back on. This pregnancy I started 10lbs heavier then the last one (thank you winter weight.) and have gained 24lbs so far. Seeing that number on the scale has definitely motivated me to get more exercise these last six weeks. I don't want to gain more fat, I already have enough. And I know with two smalls in the house it will be even harder to find time to exercise and get good meals.
Yesterday I walked 1.25 miles on the path at the park. Today I walked over 2miles to run a couple errands instead of driving. I'm hoping I can keep up the exercise until Baby Girl comes, even with the heat.

Just a little update with pics

So, Liam has really taken off with the walking, and now prefers it over crawling. It's perfect timing, because carrying him, even just from the apartment to the car, is getting to be a lot.

I hit 32 weeks on Saturday, and I feel like I grew a ton overnight. I swear Baby Girl is going to be bigger then Liam was.

Fourth of July was fun. We got Sonic drinks in the afternoon. Joined some friends for dinner at the Olive Garden, and then hung out at our place, because we were able to see the fireworks from our steps.

With Liam's first birthday, his love for reading books, and taking baths returned. We finished the Library's Toddler summer reading program in 1 week. His favorite books are lift-the-flap, touch & feel, and sound books, particularly Mr. Brown Can Moo. I am incredibly grateful his love of baths has returned as he gets pretty dirty playing and eating.

I think that's all for now, I'll try to keep updating often.

12 months

Dear Liam Benjamin,
Today is your first birthday. It's marks a year of breast feeding (exclusively for the first 9 months). It marks a year of co-sleeping, cloth diapering, and so much more.
I am so blessed to be your Mama, and getting to watch you change and grow over this last year.
In this last month you got your first hair cut (in time for vacation), took your first couple steps (though still not officially walking yet), met quite a lot of people, got to grown up for baby time, grew out of some onsies and shirts, and just got even cuter!
I love you,
Love, Mama

Hubby Brag

This holiday weekend falls on the anniversary of Nate working for Coleman American. And while it may not be his dream job, or an easy job, he gets up and works hard to provide for his family every day.
I am so proud of him, and grateful God gave me such a hard working man who is willing to do hard, manual labor, so that I can have my dream job as a stay at home mom.
I love you, so much!

This pic is from when we went out to lunch to celebrate today.

11 Months

Dear Liam,
Words cannot express how happy I am to be your Mama. This year was my first real Mother's day, and you and Daddy made it special.
I feel like every day you learn something new, waving, clapping, how to get on the coffee table, how to climb into your toy box, How to use a straw, how to stand, and so many other things.
You eat so many things now, and you definitely want 3 meals a day. It's all good though, it means you're growing up like you should.
You wear 12 month clothes for the most part, although I dug through your next size up to find you shorts, because we have hit summer weather finally!
You love to play outside, and by yourself, but you always come crawling back for a quick snuggle before rushing off to your next adventure. I have watched your imagination grow, and it is so much fun.
I love being your Mama, baby boy!
Love,
Mama

Napping.

Not a baby anymore.
