33 Week Update

I had a Dr's appointment today. Things are going good. She was really pleased with how well I've been managing my blood sugars. YAY! Little Foot's heartbeat is nice and strong and my tummy is measuring fine. My blood pressure is always really good. Today it was "textbook" 120/80.

Thank you to everyone who has been praying for mine and Little Foot's health, your prayers are being heard. =]

Health Update

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes about a week and a half ago. On Wednesday I was given a glucometer and taught about carbohydrates  and proteins and calories and all sorts of good stuff, so that I can control my blood sugar through exercise and diet.

So far, (as in the last 4 days), I have successfully kept my blood sugar in the "safe range" and for that I am ridiculously happy. Because if I am unable to control it myself, I will become insulin dependant and that is about the last thing in the world that I want right now.

I have an appointment with my OB/GYN on Wednesday, and we'll take a look at my blood sugars for the past week and see how I'm doing. Then on Thursday I have a follow up appointment with the dietitian to see how I'm doing as well.

Everyone wants to make sure I'm taking care of my body and Little Foot. Nate has been really helpful//supportive in all of this and that makes it a little easier. We go for a walk every night which is nice, it gets me out of the house and exercise and gives Nate and I a chance to talk about anything and everything under the moon. And we do. =]

I need to rap this up as I am using a  computer at the library and my turn is almost over.

Prayer Requests/Praises:
  1. That God has provided all the bigger baby items that we NEED. I am feeling prepared item wise.
  2. That I continue to have peace about giving birth.
  3. For strength and perseverance to keep up with the diet and exercise I need to be getting.
  4. To strengthen Nate's and my relationship. (These pregnancy hormones make me not always the most pleasant person to be around.)

Realization

So, I realized the other day that it's less then 90 days until my due date. That's three months. In three months I am going to be handed a tiny, helpless, squalling newborn and be expected to take care of it. Not that I have a problem with that. I am beyond excited to have Little Foot out of my womb and into my arms to hold and love, but sometimes thinking about it is really overwhelming. Thankfully I just don't usually think about it. If I did I'm sure I would walk around in a total state of panic.

On the happy, less depressing side of things, the baby is growing well, and I've only gained 10lbs total so far, and my baby bump is still relatively small. I'm measuring well, and hopefully on Monday when I go in for my Rogam shot I'll find out whether or not I passed my 1-hour glucose test.

Update.. Because I am really alive.

Life has been good as of late, although Nate and I have both had colds and I am still working on getting all better. We got approved for food stamps, so at least until July we are set food wise which is really comforting.

Nate got a lot of extra hours at work due to someone else being sick, so we have enough money to get a bed (YAY! So tired of sleeping on the pull-out couch) and hopefully get the cloth diapers for Little Foot soon. (Gotta teach Nate how to use them before the baby gets here. ;])

Speaking of baby, I had a Dr's appointment on Wednesday, and she said everything is fine, heartbeat is good and my belly is measuring right in range. I get my glucose levels tested on Monday, and my Rogam shot on Wednesday, not really looking forward to it, but it's all Little Foot in the end.

I would post more but I'm getting tired and ready to head home and I can't think of anything else to say. =P

The belly at 25 weeks.

Prayer Requests:
  1. That my cold will be completely gone.
  2. That Nate's hours at work continue to stay higher.
  3. That I pass my glucose test.
  4. For peace for me, I'm kind of psyching myself out about giving birth and all that jazz.

Massive Update

First off, apologies for not updating in forever. Not that I haven't wanted to, but because we have no internet at home.

February 1st, Nate and I moved into our own apartment. It has been wonderful having our own place, especially a kitchen to cook in. We still only have a couch and a coffee table, but we're making ends meet at this point, So grateful to the friends and strangers who have given us money this past month.

Anyways, we moved and so we don't have internet anymore. Which wasn't a huge issue with me and we both had smart phones and unlimited 3G, with an app for just about everything it really didn't bother me. Then my phone broke. And so I'm using a crappy back up non-smart phone. It allows me to check Facebook and my email and that's about it. So, no more Pinterest from my phone. No more updating my blog from my phone, or anything like that. I get to do that when I come to the library (which happens about once a week.) But this whole no internet thing is good for me. It has pushed me back into reading which had pretty much stopped after being in college for a year.

Life has been going well. Little Foot is a wiggly as ever and making my tummy stick out now. Maybe soon I'll stop looking fat and actually look pregnant. >.< Who knows. My next Dr's appointment is on March 7th, and we'll see how everything is going. I'm supposed to get a shot then that will keep my body from attacking the baby since my blood type is A- and Nate is A+, the baby will most likely be A+ and if that is the case then my body could create antibodies against the baby and that would be really bad. So I get to have this shot. Lucky me.

I'll try and remember to update again soon, especially after my Dr's appointment. We would really appreciate your prayers as my car died and we don't really have the finances to get it fixed yet.

21/22 week Dr's appointment

I had my third doctors appointment this afternoon. It was a very nice break in the middle of moving, but more to come on that later.

Little Foot is doing fine. My stomach measures right where it should be, and his heart beat is nice and strong! The doctor said he is proving the old wives tale that boys have slower heartbeats wrong.

Next month I get to have my blood drawn (again) so the can tesg for anitbodies, anemia, and gestational diabetes. Whoopie! >.<
