9 months

6 days late... Because the days got away from me.

Dear Hanners,

You now climb stairs with ease (and give Mama heart attacks!) and stand unassisted for a second at a time, and think you are really cool stuff!
Yours wearing a lot of 12 month clothes, which makes me want to force you to slow down in the growing department.
You went from 2 teeth last month to now having 7, and I hardly noticed. You often demand "real" food, and can almost eat as much as Liam does in a day. I like that you're so interested in people food, it's nice to be able to have some me time, and know you're not starving.
You live up to your middle name so much, I love having such a happy baby. You love your daddy, and enjoy snuggling up with him often.
You are starting to be very vocal, and sometimes it's hard to get you to stop talking.. You remind me of me! Everyone says you're my mini me, except for those blue eyes like Aunty Bay's.
You like reading books, dancing, playing with cars (or anything else your brobro has)
I can't wait to keep watching you grow!

8months

I started a post yesterday talking about all this month's accomplishments, but it disappeared before I could finish it up and post it.

my dear sweet Nani Girl,

You're getting so big, Hanners! You are fully into 6-9 months clothes, and finally getting to wear all your cute little summer outfits and dresses.

This month (actually all within a few days of each other) you learned how to crawl, pull yourself up on things, and creep on the furniture. You would probably be good at stairs too, if we had any in our house.

You still only have your two bottom teeth, but you shows those off when you smile ALL THE TIME. Your hair is getting thick in the back, I'm hoping the top catches up soon.

Now that you're mobile Liam is loving playing with you even more and you love most of the attention, although you're still not sure about the strangling hugs he tries to give you.

You have mastered Sippy cups, and love getting drinks, especially if Liam is having one.

You're constantly trying to grab all the electronics, and everything else you can't have, this being mobile business definitely keeps me on my toes, but I love watching you grow so much!

Sorry it's been so long

I haven't blogged in a few months, and I feel bad about it. I did so good with monthly updates when Liam was a baby, but when my phone started getting slow, I deleted the blogger app and stopped writing. =\
Hanners is almost 7 months old. She is super close to crawling and has the backwards scoot down like a pro. She loves eating anything I offer her, so glad I chose baby led weaning again. She's wearing 6-9months clothes. Loves crinkly noise. Loves her daddy and any attention she gets. She's my little joy girl. {cool to think about the fact that we picked her name while I was pregnant with Liam, and it fits her so well.}
Liam [21 months] is constantly learning. He loves Thomas, Umi's (Team Umi Zoomi), Aman (Spiderman), puppies, mew mews (cats), Aunt Pop (my sister), Weetie (sweet tea), cars, Sushi (Yoshi), Ma-I-o (Mario), and pickles. He likes cuddles, kissing Hanners, playing cars, coloring, and playing catch.
Nate's birthday was last week, I keep thinking he's 25, lol.
We got to go see my parents last week, and my in-laws drove down to see us too. Now they've all met Baby Girl. It was a good trip, but definitely still recovering from it all (including colds).

Writing Prompt #5

What kind of work did your parents do (farm, salesman, manager, seamstress, nurse, stay at home mom, professional/laborer, etc.)

My mom has been a stay at home mom, for as long as I can remember. She has worked on the side, cleaning jobs, ect. But her main focus has always been homeschooling us kids, and taking care of the home.
My dad has had many different jobs, the last one before our family went into full time missions when I was 10 was working at a door company.
My parents are currently working with/at the Orphan Justice Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

Writing Prompt #4

Tell me about your mother (hers name, birth date, birthplace, parents, etc.) Can you share some memories you have of your mother?

My mother's name is Jayme Lea (Jenner) Osborn. She was born on March 25th in California. Her parents were James Lowell Jenner, who died when I was 14, and Marlene May (Wrege) Jenner, who is 80 and still alive and kicking.

I have fond memories of rubbing her back and playing with her hair while she read to me before bed. We read all sorts of stuff but the last ones I remember was "All Things Bright and Beautiful" by James Harriet.
My mother is an excellent cook, out of all the things she has made, I can honestly say I only didn't care for three of them. She didn't always want to share her kitchen, but when she opened it up and let me in, chopping, stirring, and even sometimes cooking a whole meal, it opened up a chance to talk, and learn. In this day and age knowledge of what spices and seasonings are good, strong, what compliments each other is rare and I'm thankful my mother passed it down to me.
She also is a great example of someone who protects the spiritual atmosphere of the home, always playing worship music, not allowing most movies or secular music.
She's a great mom and I love her.

Writing Prompt #3

Tell me about your father (his name, birth date, birthplace, parents, etc.) Can you share some memories you have of your father?
My dad's name is Timothy Jon Osborn. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on September 27th, 1963. (He just turned 50 this past year). His dad was a preacher, and his mom was a teacher, they both passed away when I was little (try less than 6), but they both loved the Lord and are two of the nicest people I have ever met.
The majority of my memories with my dad are of him tutoring me in math. He is very brilliant, and good with math, computers, and has helped many children understand complex things like polynomials, and how to solve for X.
He has a plethora of corny dad jokes, and enjoys a good pun. We share the same type of humor, which often leaves my mom shaking her head in disapproval.
He's skinny as a rail, and has had a mustache for as long as I can remember. He wears glasses and is fairly bald now, although as a teacher he rocked a bowl cut. XD.

Communication

The past couple of days I've wanted to blog, but haven't really had anything to say. Tonight, as I lay in bed I still don't have much to say, but clearly my subconscious does.

Liam has started having opinions, and wants (not just needs). He now fusses and cries if we don't understand him the first time, and throws a fit when we say no. {No, we're not going to watch another "moo-me" right now. You just had a cookie, and one is enough...} Today everything just seemed to make him cry or be sad. I ended up putting him in the ergo while I made dinner because otherwise he was just walking back and forth between Nate and I crying softly.

I'm really hoping to gain insight on all of this, it's frustrating to not be able to understand. His vocabulary may be growing by leaps and bounds, but I still know this is just the start of a four year long trip to toddler land. *sigh*

Wisdom and prayers are much appreciated.

Talia xx

Writing Prompt #2

When and where were you born? Describe your home, your neighborhood and the town you grew up in.

I was born in 1991. We lived in Dodge Center, Minnesota, in an old Victorian house that my parents were slowly fixing up. I shared a pink and flower wall papered room with my sister. Our play room was a walk-in closet, that had a little kitchen, and table and benches. We had a large backyard and decent sized driveway to play in.

Our town definitely had the small town feel, I remember taking bike rides around the block at 6 years old with my 9 year old sister. We would go to the park up the street, and only ever had trouble once. It was some bored teenagers, who decided to pick on us, but we ran home and told my mom, she went back, and chewed them out, Mama Bear style.

Keeping My Word

Today being a parent of my word meant letting Liam have some ice cream after lunch today.
Last night as he was going to bed, Liam saw Nate eating some ice cream, and we told him he couldn't have any then, but Tomorrow after lunch he could. Even though he's only 18 months old, and didn't remember what we said, I want him to always know me as a person who keeps my word. So, after lunch I let him have some of him ice cream he picked out at the store this week, I even let him hold the spoon for a couple bites. ;]

4 month update

Dear Hannelore Joy,
You have hit so many milestones this month.
You can roll from belly to back, although we're still working on back to belly. You sat by yourself on Friday night (2 days ago). Your head control is excellent.
You started teething almost a month ago, I put Liam's amber necklace on you (I really need to get another one) and it seems to be helping.

You graduated from your bassinet, onto the crib mattress. I stick a rolled up blanket next to you because I'm so scared you'll roll off it. I'm working on getting you and/or Liam a better place to sleep.

Your smile lights up the room, and I can't take you anywhere without people admiring you. But you love the attention and more often than not you smile and coo for them.
Liam just started saying your name, and it's adorable. He really loves you, and is getting a lot better at being gentle, and interacting nicely with you.
Your first Christmas was fun, even if you had no clue what was going on, you looked cute!
We love you!

Writing Prompt #1

For the next year, I will be answering 52 questions that serve as writing prompts to leave a legacy//history of yourself. (I would link it, but can't on my phone).

What is your full name? Talia Jasmine.
Why did your parents give you that name? My dad found my name in a name book and wanted to name the that, my mom took some convincing, but in the end agreed to it.
When my parents named me Talia they thought they were taking it from the Greek name, Thalia, which means blooming.  Pair it with Jasmine for a middle name and my name means blooming (jasmine) flower.
When I was 10 or 11 they were doing a study of names and discovered that the name Talia is actually Hebrew and means Joyous or Dew of Heaven. Both meanings turned out to be very accurate, and have spoken to me on different occasions.

Memories .001

Liam is learning so many new words and phrases. He says, "oh snap" "oh my" "uh oh" "Honors" (Hanners) "nurse" "keys" and will usually try to mimic anything you say.

He now asks Hanners if she wants to nurse when she gets fussy, it's adorable.

The other night I was nursing them to sleep, but she had been worked up, so I was rubbing her head to help her calm down. Next thing I know, Liam has his hand stretched across and is rubbing her head too.

Hanners is working on her ab muscles so she can sit up, even though she still doesn't roll back to tummy. She moves a lot using her feet. Baby Girl is just getting so big!

Teething has been going so well with her, since I've put the amber necklace on her, other than the occasional teething tablet, she seems unphased by it.

I'm getting sleepy, so I'll close now,
Talia xx
